Pierre is an artist who began their journey in dance 18 years ago and began dancing with UZIMA! shortly thereafter. It was through UZIMA! that they began cultivating the need to use their art to effect change in the heart of the Michiana area. Mentored by UZIMA!’s Artistic Director, Kelly Burgét, Pierre honed their skill as a dancer and leader, and was promoted to Company Director in 2024. Pierre has taught dance for 6 years both as an educator and choreographer. In that time, they’ve found appreciation in not only teaching but also learning from their students. Pierre’s passion for UZIMA!’s forward momentum is evident in their thorough involvement in the company from developing performance programs to understanding the mechanics that allow the organization to function. Under Pierre’s leadership, UZIMA! will continue to thrive and grow.
