UZIMA! Drum and Dance Company is proud to be part of the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center’s Presenting Series' Cultural Collective, programming supporting equitable artistic development in our community.

UZIMA! returns with another unforgettable evening of powerful music, movement, and storytelling. A continuation of the journey started with the first 2024 concert, ASHE: Prepare Ye the Way is a journey down the road less traveled, following in the footsteps of trailblazers such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, Mary Church Terrell, and other visionaries who paved the way for peace and progress.

Together, we'll explore the spirit of resistance, hope, and transformation via UZIMA!'s distinctive collaborative practice and leadership in cultural advocacy. From the bold steps of the civil rights movement to the quiet strength of community change-makers, we'll celebrate the unquenchable thirst for change that forever compels us forward, as suffragist and activist Terrell wrote, "lifting as we climb."
